Sony

1. Do I have to file a Claim Form or Check Request to participate in the Apple Settlement?

Sony customers do not have to submit a Claim Form or Check Request to participate in this Settlement.  Sony provided the Claims Administrator with Eligible Customer E-book purchase information for this and the prior Ebook Settlements.  Eligible Sony customers do not have to take any action to receive a check from the Apple Settlement.

2. Where can I find the Settlement ID Number on the notice I received?
The settlement ID number will be shown on the top of the email you received.

3. I have lost my Settlement ID number, how can I find out what it was?
If you have misplaced your notice and need your Settlement ID number you may call 866-686-9333 and speak to a customer service representative or send an email to info@EbookLawsuits.com to request your Settlement ID Number.

4. Who can assist me if I have additional Apple Ebook Settlement questions?

Please direct all questions to the Claims Administrator by calling 866-686-9333 or by sending an email to info@EbookLawsuits.com.   Please include your name, address and Settlement ID Number from the Settlement notice you received along with your question(s) when sending an email.

5. Will I still receive an award now that Sony no longer services my account?

Yes, if you have eligible Ebook purchases you will receive a check, depending on the final outcome of Apple's appeal.  Sony provided the Claims Administrator eligible E-book information to calculate and mail payments to former Sony customers.

Apple

1. How can I access my account?



To view your iTunes Store account profile, follow these steps:



1) Open iTunes.



2) From the pull-down Account menu (for Macs) or the Store menu (for PCs) at the top, choose Sign In.



3) Enter your iTunes Store account name and password, then click Sign In.



4) Go to the Account or Store menu again, then choose View My Account.



5) Enter your account name and password a second time, then click View Account.



You will be taken to your Apple Account Information page.



2. How do I find my Apple ID / iTunes log in?



To find your Apple ID, click HERE and follow the directions on the website.







3. How can I reset my password for my account?



If you are unable to sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID and need to reset your password, visit the iForgot website by clicking HERE.



With iForgot, you can choose to reset your password in one of these ways:



- You can have a password-reset email sent to an email address on your account.



- You can answer the security questions that you previously set up.

4. My email address has changed and I cannot access my account. What can I do to resolve this?



To protect your data security, Apple cannot change account settings for you. To change your Apple ID or password, click HERE and follow the directions on the website.







5. How can I review my iBook purchase history?



You can review your iTunes Store account's purchase history and order numbers by following the steps in this article available by clicking HERE.



Although it's not possible to print your purchase history, you can take a screenshot of your screen and then print the screenshot if you need to. To take a screenshot in Mac OS X, press Command-Shift-4 to take a screenshot of your entire screen. The screenshot file will appear on your desktop.

7. Was I required to submit a claim to participate in these Settlements?



You did not have to file a Claim Form to participate in these Settlements. Eligible customer eBook purchases were identified for the purposes of this settlement. Eligible customers were either sent an email or postcard notification of their eligibility and information regarding these Settlements.

8. Where can I find the Settlement ID Number on the notice I received?



The Settlement ID Number will be found on the top of the email or on the postcard you received.







9. I did not receive Settlement notice, but believe I should have. What should I do?



Please verify if the Settlement email notice was sent to your spam folder in your email. If you are not able to locate the email notice and have not received a postcard notice please contact the Claims Administrator by email at: info@EbooksLawsuits.com or call 1-866-686-9333 to verify your email and mailing information.  If you are eligible the Claims Administrator will provide you with your Settlement ID Number.  

  • Eligible customers purchased electronic books between April 1, 2010 and May 21, 2012 from one of the 5 publishers or their imprints.

Barnes & Noble

1.    Do I have to submit a Claim Form to participate in the Apple Settlement?

You do not have to file a Claim Form to participate in the Apple Settlement. You will receive another email letting you know that an account credit is available for you to activate.

2. How do I request to receive a check instead of an account credit?

  • Barnes & Noble customers who submitted a Check Request and received a check in the prior Publisher’s E-book Settlements do NOT have to submit a Check Request for the Apple E-book Settlement. Your Check Request will automatically be used to for the Apple Settlement.
  •  If you received a check in the prior Settlements and your mailing address has changed, please contact the Claims Administrator providing your name, old and new address information and your Settlement ID Number. Change of address requests can be emailed to: info@EbookLawsuits.com.

3.  Where can I find the Settlement ID Number on the notice I received?

Your unique Settlement ID Number is embedded at the top of the email you received from BN.com attaching the legal notice. 

4.    How can I access my BN.com account?

Click on the “Sign in” link at the top of any page on the www.bn.com website

Input your email address and password.



5.    How do I reset my BN.com account or NOOK account password?

Follow the steps below to reset your BN.com and/or NOOK account password.

  1. Click "Sign In" at the top of BN.com.  This opens the "Sign In or Create Account" window.  Click the "Forgot your Password" link.
  2. Enter the email address of the BN.com or NOOK account that you want to change the password to, and then click "Continue".

  3. Select the "Send a link to my email" option, then click "Continue".  This prompts an email to be sent to the address that you entered in Step 2.

  4. Please note: The email contains a password reset link that expires if it is not used within 24 hours. If you do not use the reset link within 24 hours of receiving the email, you can try again by starting from Step 1.

  5. After receiving and opening the email, follow the instructions and click the password reset link to be redirected to a page where you can create a new password.

     

6.  My email address has changed and I cannot access my account.  What can I do to resolve this 

  1. Access BN.com and sign into your account.
  2. Click on "My Account" and select "Manage Account".

  3. Click the "Manage Account Settings" link in the Settings section of the My Account page.  This navigates you to the Account Settings page.

  4. On the Account Settings page you can make the following changes to your BN.com account:

    - Change the name that is associated with your account.

    - Change the email address that is associated with your account.

    Please note: For security purposes, changing your email address will result in the removal of all of your saved payment information.

    - Change your password.

    - Change your security question.

    - Edit your content settings.

    - Update your Instant Purchase settings.

  5. After making any changes to your account settings, be sure to click the "Save Changes" button to ensure that your updates are finalized.

     Please note: Any time changes are made to your Barnes & Noble account, we will send an email confirming that the changes have been made.

         

7.   How can I review my E-book purchase history?

Click on the “Order Status” link at the top right corner of any page on the www.bn.com website com.

Sign in or enter your password as prompted to view the last 6 months of your order history.

Google

1. Do I have to file a Claim Form to receive a payment from the Apple Settlement?
Google customers are required to file a Claim Form to participate in the Apple Settlement.  Customers who submit a timely and valid Claim Form by October 31, 2014 will be mailed a check, pending the outcome of Apple's appeal.

  • Google customers who filed a Claim Form and received a check for the prior publisher's Ebook Settlements are NOT required to submit a Claim Form for the Apple Settlement.  Your claim will automatically be used for the Apple Settlement.
  • If you did not file a Claim Form or did not receive a check for the prior Settlements and need to file a Claim Form for the Apple Settlement click HERE.

2. How can I access my account?
To access your Google Play / Google Books account, please visit http://play.google.com/books on the web. You will have to sign in with the same Google account that you used to purchase your eBooks (most likely the one that your email from Google about the settlement was sent to). On an Android device, or on an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, you can view all your books in the Google Play Books app after you’ve signed in with the same Google account that you used to purchase your eBooks.

3. How can I reset my password for my account?
If you have forgotten your password to your Google account, you can reset it by going to http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?answer=48598.

4. My email address has changed and I cannot access my account. What can I do to resolve this?
If you need help logging in to your Google account, please go to http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?answer=48598 and follow the prompts to recover your account.

5. How can I review my E-book purchase history?
To view all the books you've purchased or downloaded from Google Play / Google Books, you can visit the My Orders page (http://play.google.com/store/account) on the web. On an Android device, or on an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, you can view all your books in the Google Play Books app. Alternately, you can also view your purchase history by signing in to your Google Wallet account at wallet.google.com/manage.

1. Who should I contact if I have questions about filing a Claim Form for the Apple Ebook Settlement?

2. If I filed a Claim Form in the prior Ebook Settlements and received a check do I need to re-file a claim for the Apple Settlement?

No, you do not need to re-file your claim if you received a check from the prior settlements.  The Claims Administrator will automatically include your previously filed claim in the Apple Settlements.  If Apple has to pay money (Pending the Liablility Findings) you will be issued a check.

Amazon

1. General Amazon Account Questions:
For questions about your  Amazon account, pleasevisit the Amazon website at www.amazon.com.

2.  Do I have to submit a claim to participate in the Apple Settlement?
No, you do not need to do anything to receive your credit.  You will receive or have received an email notice from Amazon.  You will receive your credit in your account automatically if the court approves the Settlement which is  dependant on the outcome of Apple’s pending appeal.

3. 
What if I don't have a Settlement ID Number for requesting a check?
If you do not have the email notice with your Settlement ID Number and you believe you are eligible for a payment and you did not receive a check in the prior Settlements, you should submit a Check Request.  When completing the online Check Request:

1.      Select Amazon as your retailer,

2.      Settlement ID Number:  Enter the letters AMN followed by the Order Number from any ONE Kindle book purchase.

Following the October 31, 2014 filing period, Amazon will verify if you have eligible E-book purchases.  Eligible customers will be mailed a check.

4. Where can I find the Settlement ID Number on the notice I received?
You can find the Settlement ID Number in the email that you received from Amazon.  Look for the sentence “Settlement ID Number:”.

 

5. I did not receive an email notice, but believe I should have.  What should I do?
Please confirm that your email address on your Amazon account is correct. If your email address is correct, check your spam folder in your email.  The notice mayhave been sent to your spam folder. 

If you believeyou are eligible for a payment for E-book purchases from Amazon made during the class period and you didn’t receive an email notice, and you did not receive a credit or check in the prior Ebook Settlements, you should submit a Check Request.  Additional information isavailable in Question 4 above.  By submitting a Check Request, your account will be reviewed to confirm if it qualifies for a payment.

Kobo

1. Do I have to submit a claim to participate in these Settlements?
You do not have to file a Claim Form to participate in these Settlements. If the court approves the Apple Settlement you will receive a second email letting you know that an account credit is available and instruction on how to activate it.

2. How can I access my Kobo account?
You can access your Kobo account by following these steps:

1. Navigate to the Kobo website (www.kobobooks.com).

2. Click Sign in from the top right hand corner of the page.

3. Fill in your email address and Kobo password.

4. Click Continue.

5. Click My Account found at the top right hand corner of the page.

 

3. How can I reset my password for my account?

If you have forgotten your old password, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to the Kobo website (www.kobobooks.com).

2. Click Sign In from the top right hand corner of the page.

3. Click Forgot your password (beside the Continue button).

4. Fill in the email address you used to create your Kobo account.

5. Click Submit.

6. An email will be sent to your inbox with a link that will allow you to create a new password.

This link is time-sensitive; it will only last for five hours. If too much time has passed before you’re able to reset your password, go through the above steps one more time.

4. How do I change my password?

You should change your password if you think it has been found out, or if you accidentally saved it on a public computer. It’s always best to keep your password secret to safeguard your personal information.
To change or create a new password,

1. Navigate to the Kobo website (www.kobobooks.com).

2. Sign in to your account by clicking on Sign In at the top right hand corner of the page.

3. Enter your email address and password; click Continue.

4. Click My Account found at the top right hand corner of the page.

5. Under the Account Settings tab, click Change Password found in the “Sign In Preferences” section.

6. Enter you current password and then the password you would like to change to

7. Click Save.

Your password has been changed and you should use the new one the next time you sign in.
o Please note: by clicking Cancel, your password will remain unchanged.

 

5. My email address has changed and I cannot access my Kobo account. What can I do to resolve this?

Please contact Kobo Customer Care directly, by emailing them at help@kobobooks.com.

Please ensure you include your old email address and they will be happy to update your account details.

 

6. How can I review my E-book purchase history?

You can keep track of your purchases on the Kobo website in two ways:
1) by reviewing your Purchases page

1. Navigate to the Kobo website (www.kobobooks.com).

2. Sign in to your account.

3. Click My Library.

4. Click the Purchased tab.

Your Purchases page shows all the content you’ve purchased from the Kobo website, including the date it was purchased.
On this tab, you can also delete content you’ve purchased. Should you choose to delete a purchased item, you have thirty days from the date of deleting to remove it from the Trash. After thirty days have expired, you will no longer have access to the content, and will have to re-purchase it to read it again.

2) by reviewing your Purchase History

1. Navigate to the Kobo website (www.kobobooks.com).

2. Sign in to your account.

3. Click My Account found at the top right hand corner of the page.

4. Click the Purchase History tab next to Account Settings.

This page shows a list of your transactions to date. You can see more about the content you’ve purchased by simply clicking on the title.

 

7. Where can I find the Settlement ID Number on the notice I received?

The Settlement ID number is found within the communication that was sent and can be located in the fourth sentence next to the link “learn more”.

 

8. I no longer have the Settlement ID Number I received in the notice. Who do I contact to find out my Settlement ID number?

Please send an email to ebooksettlement@kobo.com including your full name, email address and physical address. They will be able to provide you with your Settlement ID Number.

 

9. Who can I contact if I am having problems with my account?

Please contact Kobo’s Customer Care by sending an email to help@kobobook.com, include your account details and a short description of the issue and they will be happy to help you.
